With Mother’s Day in just a few days,  I wanted to share with you a free printable tag along with this great idea to give to your mom friends or family. Let’s be honest, something that I hate doing is the dishes…. especially on a day that you just want to relax and take it easy. So why not give a mom a few less dishes that she has to do. These would make for great little gifts for a teacher, coworker, or friend.Mothers Day Dishes Printable

Easter Dessert Tables

Easter is just around the corner, and in preparation I wanted to share with you some Easter themed desert tables.

Easter-Dessert-Table

Think Pink

I started with a pale palette of tan and pink for the table above. I used craft paper and a pink paper flower as the backdrop, with a vintage pale pink table cloth and white serving dishes.

One table, two ways

To give the table a bit of a bolder look I changed the background to a deep chocolate fabric and added a “Happy Easter” pendant banner.

Mossy Green Easter Table

With this table I went for a more natural feel, using tan and shades of green.  I accented the table with large glass vases filled with fax moss stones and granny smith apples. The cupcakes were placed on a natural wood carving board. Using the same craft paper and brown fabric for the two backgrounds on this table, I was able to change the look a bit.

Fall Bird Bridal Shower

When a dear friend of mine got engaged, the first thing I thought was how perfect for each other they were. The second thing was, when do I get to throw a bridal shower. The shower was in early October, so I knew that I wanted to incorporate fall and the bride had already decided on using birdcages as apart of her reception decor. So I did my best to combine a bird theme with fall colors and flavors. The color scheme for the shower was moss green, shades of brown, and pops of orange. I used birdcages, moss rocks, mini pumpkins, antique bird figurines, pears (because they were the perfect shade of green), and kraft paper circle cut outs with the bride and groom’s C + J logo

How to make Paper Rosettes

For our Gender Reveal Party, I created a backdrop for the food bar of paper rosettes.  I needed something that would add the colors and patterns of the party with out adding a huge extra cost. For this center piece I used around 50 paper rosettes in various papers and sizes. I also added some white dollies and used my circle craft punches to add some embellishments to a few of the rosettes.

My Favorite Fruit Dip Recipe

This is one of my favorite party recipes. It is so quick and easy to make and you can change up the flavorings depending on the other food that you are serving.

  • 1 (8 ounce) container cool whip (thawed out)
  • 1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow creme
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese

Directions
In a mixing bowl, combine the cool whip, marshmallow creme, and cream cheese. Mix until smooth. Serve chilled with fruit.

For variations use flavored cool whip and/or flavored cream cheese. I love to use the cinnamon cool whip and the cinnamon pecan cream cheese. Another favorite flavoring is to use strawberry flavored cool whip and cream cheese.

I hope you enjoy!

What will it “Bee”? A baby gender reveal party.

Our house is all a buzz with the news of our small family going from two to three. My husband, Aaron, and I are expecting our first child. And what better way to celebrate our new bundle of joy, than to throw a “Gender Reveal” party to share with our family and friends. Gender reveal parties is a new trend for parents to share the news of “It’s a Boy” or “It’s a Girl” to family and friends.

What will it “Bee”? was an adorable theme that I found while scouring the internet for gender reveal parties, and I was smitten with the wonderful color scheme of black, white, and yellow.
